Vegetarian Bonaire was created with two purposes in mind:
1) to help vegetarian locals, residents and visitors find reasonable vegetarian options in the restaurants of Bonaire
Bonaire boasts a large number of fantastic restaurants. Chefs who know what they're doing should have no problem coming up with vegetarian dishes. If they have good veggie options, then you can be sure that your meat-eating dining companions will also have a great meal (and chances are that they'll be more understanding about other dietary restrictions). Unfortunately, there are still several restaurants on this island that have limited (and boring) vegetarian options. But who wants to wait until they sit down and order drinks to find out that the only meatless thing that they have for you is lettuce or dessert? C'mon - it's 2022, we're here, we're not going away and if you can feed us something nice we will spend money with you!

There are vegetarian meat-substitutes available in various stores. Some are from the US and some are from Europe. We never know when they'll be in stock.
Note: By "vegetarian" we mean a "lacto-ovo" vegetarian - someone who does not eat meat, fish or chicken but will eat eggs and dairy products.
